  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 2 medium sweet onions, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 soft sandwich buns

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the beef chuck roast and cut into large chunks.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions in oil until translucent; add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Layer sautéed onions and garlic in a slow cooker, followed by seasoned beef chunks. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until beef is fork-tender.
  5. Shred the beef in the slow cooker, mixing it with juices.
  6. Pile shredded beef onto soft buns and top with cheddar cheese.
  7. Place under a broiler for 1-2 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
